As part of the celebrations for the 71st anniversary of the Portuguese Air Force, Air Base No. 5 in Monte Real opened its doors to the public and let visitors know about their mission. As is tradition, BA5 offered the opportunity to take part in a Spotters Day, where aviation and photography enthusiasts could get closer to the action. It was possible to watch various flying demonstrations by the F-16s and also a ground attack simulation. One of the things that stood out, compared to previous editions, was the chance to photograph the many different aircraft on display next to classic cars, including the Lamborghini Diablo next to an A-7 Corsair II and the Shelby GT500 "Eleanor" with the F-16 and its array of weaponry.
