As part of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Portuguese Air Force, Aeródromo de Manobrao Nº1 in Maceda opened its doors to the public to show their mission and the squadrons that are stationed there. It was possible to watch a Search and Rescue demonstration with the AW 119 Koala helicopter from the 552 "Zangões" Squadron and various flight demonstrations by the F-16s. There was also the chance for the lucky ones to take a flight in the C-130H of the 501st "Bison" Squadron.
